Tiivistelmä:Many researchers believe that pervasive differences in occupational patterns by sex are primarily responsible for the persistent difference in male-female earnings. Sex differences in occupations are due both to differences in preferences and to differences in employer selection. Women are more likely than men to choose the "female" and service occupations and less likely than men to choose the crafts/ labor and professional/managerial occupations. Women are less likely than men to be chosen for the professional/ managerial and service occupations.
