| Tiivistelmä: | This article analyses the changes in the field of employment in Polish public sector. Due to the market-driven reforms in the Polish health and education sectors implemented in the late 1990s, women in public and service sector have experienced an intensification of work and weakening working conditions. The reaction to the reform has been extensive and combative industrial action, which has gained noticeable attention. The paper also discusses the ways women have contested change, e.g. through trade unionism and other political practice. |
