| Tiivistelmä: | Machine tool administration has been a neglected area so far. It is demonstrated that there are ample opportunities for rationalization in this field. In order to make further progress, machine tool administration should be integrated into the CIM concept. An effective data storage and retrival system is necessary for such an integration. The main functions of tool management are described and analyzed. Interfaces to construction, production scheduling, numerical control, cost accounting and some related areas are considered. |
