| Tiivistelmä: | The 15 new independent states of the former soviet union need to have at least temporary agreements on commerce and methods of payment to avoid total collapse of trade between the states. Export controls and government involvment in trade should be reduced. Trade between companies should be encouraged instead. The authors recommend multilateral clearing- and payment systems and other steps to help the trade between regions of the former USSR. A table illustrates the importance of international trade within the former soviet, COMECON and European Community. |
