| Tiivistelmä: | Innovative small businesses are a major engine of economic growth, but they could benefit from more help, particularly at local level. But, what are the social and economic benefits of innovation? Should innovation be steered by national governments? What type of innovation research and development should be supported? How should innovation be supported? This study reports on the views of innovators about their problems and their needs for support. A critical perspective is offered on what government, commercial and financial institutions could do to improve their support for innovative developments. |
