| Tiivistelmä: | A FMS can be defined as an integrated system of equipment and processes via computer that is capable of producing a variety of products economically. The objective of this paper is to incorporate a structured approach to deadlock detection, avoidance and resolution to support a flexible workstation and shopfloor controller. In manufacturing systems, deadlock arises because parts have been allocated to machines in a way that makes part flow impossible. Deadlock detection and avoidance are absolutely crucial to uninterrupted operation of automated manufacturing systems. |
