| Tiivistelmä: | The paper focuses on the problem of the implementation of up to date management techniques and approaches in health care institutions, and on the information needs of the management.The author emphasises that current restructuring of the health care system represents a challenge for the top manager.An information system capable to provide the right information, needed for decision support, at the right time, is an imperative for the management.Executive information systems differ from other information systems in the way how information is shaped to provide an adequate basis for decision making and for the implementations of the decisions.Besides the executive information system, the specifics of the health care demands an interorganizational information system which includes computerised data exchange between organizations inside of the health care system, and between the health care organizations and other institutions. |
