| Tiivistelmä: | This paper develops and applies aframework for understanding and interpreting the breadth of executive compensation theor and research. The framework helps to highlight areas where executive compensation research has stalled and areas it has ignored, and it provides direction for re-energizing the field by outlining questions for future theory building and research. The framework sorts literature along dimensions reflecting basic issues in compensation design: what to pay, when to pay, and how ot pay. |
