| Tiivistelmä: | Manufacturing firms are forced to develop new, high quality products at an increasingly rapid pace because of intense competition in many industries. An important tool for product development is overlapping product development activities. Overlapping interrelated activities may present many difficulties, since product development activities can be coupled in complex ways. The development effort and cost may increase and product quality may worsen, without careful management of the overlapped product development process. A model-based framework is presented here to manage the overlapping of coupled product development activities. |
