Tiivistelmä:The glass ceiling phenomenon refers to invisble artificial barriers that prevent qualified women (or minorities) from advancing with their organization. Some papers explain this fact with the higher costs for women to signal their abilities and skills. In our paper we try to complete this explanations. If there is presumed a weak leadership of women, women can be excluded from the top executive board. The reason is that in situations where the productivity of the management is not direct visible their quality must be signalled through other credentials. The membership of an unable presumed woman would hurt the credibility of the whole executive board.
