| Tiivistelmä: | The development of a competitive financial sector is of crucial importance for the transformation of the former socialist countries. These economies need an efficient monetary system to mobilise and allocate saving and investment. In the case of Slovenia, the transformation of the monetary sector is especially affected by the need to achieve the Maastricht monetary convergence criteria. This article summarizes some key problems of the convergence process. |
