| Tiivistelmä: | This paper analyses a New Partnership Agreement between the European Union (EU) and its associated States from Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific (ACP). The paper presents the Framework Agreement signed in Cotonou and highlights EU-ACP trade under the EPA paradigm of development co-operation. Then the paper collates the EPA trade regime and the WTO requirements, and highlights selected sticky issues and lessons from appellate body decisions. Afterwards the paper discusses the possibilities of bringing the WTO-EPA gap and gives a brief conclusion in the last section. The paper also provides a substantial list of references on this subject. |
