| Tiivistelmä: | This paper aims to offer some reflections on the state of research in the alliance (here as: allc.) field and to comment on some papers. The addressed questions are whether: a. structure (here as: str.) or process matters more in explaining allc. performance, b. academic research under-represents processual and behavioural studies on the motivations and mindsets of allc. executives, and c. the two research streams can ever meet. The paper concludes by outlining research domains combining the two research streams, 1. in terms of how allc. str. can affect post-formation partner behaviours and joint managerial processes, and 2. how negotiations processes at the formation stage influence the allc. str. on which the parties are agreed. |
