| Tiivistelmä: | The paper deals with anti-dumping (AD) duties levied by the European Commission against products from ASEAN countries from 1991 to 2001. A panel regression has been applied to estimate the impact of AD duties on trade in some 12 products subject to AD duties targeting ASEAN countries. A significant negative impact of AD duties is found, on both the value and the quantity of imports from ASEAN countries. This study's estimation provides some indications of trade diversion (here as: tr-div.) in favour of EU countries. However, there is no evidence of tr-div. in favour of non-targeted non-EU countries. |
