Tiivistelmä:It is suggested that management scholars may have overshot the goal to be more systematic or scientific. They need a synthesis of rationality and entrepreneurial or opportunistic resourcefulness. Strategic opportunism is a way of approaching the complex, uncertain task of management both creatively and rigorously. Thinking both strategically and opportunistically requires a tolerance for ambiguity, intellectual intensity,mental hustle,and a viligant eye for new ideas,a tough-minded approach to an inherently messy process,the ability to take action in the middle of uncertainty,to "sin bravely".
