The need for an accurate estimate of the effort required to develop a system can be felt throughout the management function. Effort estimation can support: budgeting for the cost of developing the system; scheduling the personnel and resources needed throughout the development; monitoring the progress of the project. An effective estimation technique should be able to provide the approximate amount of effort, in man-months, required to develop the proposed system. |
