Tiivistelmä: | In the scheduling of component and assembly tasks at the work centers, end-product due dates requested by customers or by the sales department play a significant role. An approximate technique is developed for scheduling tasks to minimize earliness and lateness penalties. The problem of scheduling is defined, and then the operational features of a heuristic procedure is described. One of these features is the repeated application of a maximum flow algorithm to identify improved schedules. This heuristic compares favorably with mixed integer programming and another heuristic approach known as finite loading. |
