| Tiivistelmä: | The motivations for industrial firms to transfer technology to less developed countries are examined. Debates about the topic are reviewed. Motivations for private industry are analyzed in detail. Literature about the correlations between industrialization and economic growth is surveyed. The most important technological transfer target sectors. are listed and described. Industrial technologies appropriate for transfer are discussed. Examples are presented illustrating possibilities. Direct knowledge transfers and product introductions are described as the two main transfer channels. Supporting activities are mentioned. |
