| Tiivistelmä: | Some integrative tendencies of financial activities of banks in Western Europe are described and analyzed. The most important effects of these developments on the risk profile of banks are reviewed. Some new techniques for hedging and arbitrary as options, futures, forward rate agreements and swaps are mentioned. The general principles of risk policy adequate to the new situation are summarized. Differentiated views on political risks, market risks, business risks etc. are also formed. The tasks of an effective risk management of banks are discussed specified to the different areas of banking operations. |
