Tiivistelmä:Brazilian companies, driven by the need to export, are using their advanced management and technical skills to successfully run subsidiaries abroad. In conducting a statistical analysis, 33 industrial Brazilian multinationals are used, excluding most construction and engineering firms. The 33 has set up a total of 63 subsidiaries and licensed production operations abroad. It is stated, the dominant competitive advantage of Brazilian multinationals is their strong management skills adapted to LDC environments, but it is not restricted to them. The primary force behind them is the need to export, derived from both a recession at home and output levels beyond what Brazil can absorb. They are looking abroad for markets, and also for second bases.
