| Tiivistelmä: | Industrial investors still realize too little that product innovations can be accomplished very efficiently and quickly by financing young enterprises which have a substantial growth potential. The role of venture capital in the company development is examined. The relationships between the company development and the profit raising objectives are discussed. Some opportunities for improving the strengths/weaknesses profile of a company are mentioned. Four decision rules are presented which can be used to develop an innovation oriented Venture Capital Portfolio. It is shown how this portfolio helps to the investor in selecting the portfolio companies as well as the investment criteria that lead to success. |
