| Tiivistelmä: | Using the information technology for illustration it is shown how a leading position in technology development can be a source of economic power. The economic crisis of the seventies in relation with the growing oil prices is examined. Its effects on technological innovation and work organization are described. Some new environmental uncertainties are assessed which had influenced the behaviour of industrial groups giving ways to a sophisticated risk management. The dependence of high technology - and particularly information and knowledge technologies - on intensive R and D activity is emphasized. It is also demonstrated that these technologies being unevenly distributed and demanding huge investments are related to power. |
