| Tiivistelmä: | Pricing is discussed as a critical problem facing managers. The academic literature suggesting a variety of pricing methods is reviewed. The role of the traditional price-performance curve in pricing decisions is described. A market-based perceived performance analysis is proposed, that integrates both the engineering and market inputs for product performance evaluation. A step-by-step procedure for a value-based pricing algorithm is illustrated using hypothetical data from the microcomputer processor industry. Practical application possibilities are summarized, limitations of the methodology are highlighted. |
