| Tiivistelmä: | The reorganization of existing production facilities in the consumer goods industry necessitates a global concept, which provides both market- and product-related criteria for considering competitiveness. Some weaknesses of strategic planning are described and analyzed. A new approach to production and production planning has been developed at the Laboratorium fuer Werkzeugmaschinen und Betriebslehre der Rheinisch-Westfaelischen Technischen Hochscule Aachen, which facilitates the integration of production-engineering aspects into the strategic corporate planning. The traditional cost accounting system is criticized. The role of an up-to-date production-oriented information system is explained. |
