| Tiivistelmä: | The rapid post-war rise of temporary work in Western Europe is examined. Its legitimate and less legitimate manifestations are shown. It evokes widely differing views from trade unions and employers, and it presents disadvantages and (undeniable) advantages to all concerned. The controversy surrounding its actual nature is explored. The legal status of such work in various countries is outlined. Its position vis-a-vis to relevant ILO instruments and proposed EC directives, and the legal problems arising from the triangular employment relationship involved, as regards social protection are shown. |
