| Tiivistelmä: | The paper analyses the development of teaching and research in the field of business administration at the University of Rostock, the first university in Northern Europe. Beginning in the early sixties the faculty concentrated on education in engineering economy and transportation economics. The period of the close political regulation of the faculty and of teaching contents ended in 1989. Shortly afterwards the faculty started to develop its own courses of studies in management in order to bring management education in line with teaching at West German universities. These studies will be offered starting with the winter term of 1990. |
