| Tiivistelmä: | The author states that environmental management is a real challenge for modern, high-tech societies. As tourism is an industry that involves the environment and natural resourceas, the tourism industry has initiated intellectual campaigns,and action programmes. It is often influenced by national environmental policies. The current national environmental policies of Britain, Germany, China, Taiwan and Japan are summarised and differences in their respective emphases are highlighted with the implication for tourism. |
