Tiivistelmä:This article discusses four differences existing between ecology and economy. Firstly, no primary producer has the same role in the economic system (hereafter as: econ-sys.) than the photosynthesizers have in the biosphere. Secondly, econ-sys. recycles less than the ecological system (hereafter as: ecol-sys.), but utilizes more elements. Thirdly, in the biospehere exist no markets. Finally, in econ-sys. differentiation is based on mutations and Darvinian selection, whereas in ecol-sys. the differentiation relies on discovery, invention and innovation.
