Tiivistelmä:There are some ways to anticipate future events and reduce the risk of surprising developments. Having a long-range forecasting and planning system calls for a management style that is highly proactive. This means influencing the events in the environment rather than reacting to them. The key steps in forecasting and planning are interpreting, signals of change, assessing the marketing implications of change, and developing strategies to take advantage of those changes. It is explained how to link forecasts to strategic planning; how to avoid surprises; finally, how to shift out new opportunities.
