| Tiivistelmä: | The first European Remote-Sensing Satellite (ERS-1) is the forerunner of a new generation of space missions planned for the 1990s. The ERS-1 will undertake measurement of sea state, ocean circulation and sea and ice level. It will measure the sea's surface temperature with greater accuracy than any of the current space systems. These data will help to address several pressing environmental problems. |
