| Tiivistelmä: | The problem of timetabling examinations faced by most educational institutions becomes much more formidable in a higher educational institution because of the much greater number of students and courses, and the degree of choice available to the students. As well as avoiding clashes between courses having students in common, the program takes account of examination-room availability and capacity to schedule the necessary examinations over no more than two weeks such that as few students as possible have two examinations on the same day. In addition, the schedule is arranged so that the larger examinations are timetabled earlier. When comparison with the previous manual procedure is possible, the computer timetable is better. |
