| Tiivistelmä: | The idea of this paper is to discuss the relation between the Russian elite and the European Union. The paper examines foreign policy discourse through the content analysis of different types of materials like Russian foreign policy documents and interviews with policymakers and academics. The conclusions of the paper reveal several reasons why the Russian elite group is reluctant to Europeanisation. |
