| Tiivistelmä: | This article deals with the transformation and evolution of Russia's (hereafter as: R.) foreign policy while Vladimir Putin's presidency in Russia from 2000 to 2008. It is particularly aimed at delineating the differences btw. Putin's rhetoric and image compared to R.'s actions and resulting reality, leading to what the author believes is a more fractured relationship btw. R. and the West. Topics include R. domestic politics, R.'s foreign policy, and R. as an 'energy superpower'. |
