Tiivistelmä:Various patterns of wage bargaining under trade unionism have been disclosed so far. (Bargaining at the plant level or at a firm-wide level, unions organised according the workers' skills or according to their workplace etc.) Several explanations for differences in bargaining structures are mentioned. A model is developed with solid foundation in bargaining theory, which can make explicit how the wages bargained for by a firm depend on the structure of the firm's unions. The main results can be summarized as follows. If there are two groups of workers in the firm and they are close substitutes, then an encompassing union while they are strong complements then two separate unions will be the equilibrium form.
