| Tiivistelmä: | The Medical Center in Beaver is the most efficient hospital in western Pennsylvania. It also has excellent clinical quality and award winning service departments. Yet the president and CEO of the hospital, believes there is a basic flaw in how hospitals deliver their services, and nothing short of a radical transformation of the whole organization will correct that flaw. The hospital began implementing Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) techniques to improve its systems, but quickly found these efforts did not address the fundamental problems. |
