| Tiivistelmä: | The debate in the strategy, economics and finance literatures concerns the conflict resulting from the separation of ownership and control. The shareholders delegate to managers the authority to conduct the firm's affairs. The agency literature proposes that managers will take decisions to maximize their own utility, not the wealth of shareholders. Given there is no congruence between managerial and shareholders' interests, the issues are: what are the factors of these interests, and how effective are they in achieving this alignment? |
