| Tiivistelmä: | By the end of 1996, the actually used foreign investment exceeded US$ 280 billion including foreign investment of US$ 177.2 billion and borrowed money of US$ 110 billion from abroad. It effectively ease the contradiction of shortage of funds for construction and help develop enterprises for 9.7% of foreign funds were used in updating and transformation in 1996. It also made contribution to the growth of China's foreign trade. To prevent the over heated investment which would lead to the serious imbalance between demand and supply and high inflation, China retain the system of planned control over the total investment and the system of foreign exchange management under the regime of conditional convertibility of the current account RMB. |
