Tiivistelmä:All managers find themselves delivering oral reprimands to subordinates and occasionally having to suspend or fire an employee. Managers feel pressure from different sources: organizations, work groups, punished subordinates, and themselves. Managers are aware that punishment is a highly charged emotional and cognitive event with far-reaching effects that changes attitudes and behaviours. In this article a qualitative interview technique is employed to develop an inductive model of punishment from a managerial perspective.
