Tiivistelmä:Beijing finds that it is getting tougher all the time to slow the plague of counterfeiters. Despite efforts by Beijing to clamp down, Chinese counterfeiters are finding more sophisticated and profitable ways to produce illegal versions of music CDs, cassettes, computer software, and CD-ROMs. Some places are playing key roles: Demand - pirated goods from the south remain very popular in Beijing, expansion - as China's government tries to clamp down in Guangdong, pirates with local connections increasingly are relocating in Guilin and other cities, action - western experts credit Shanghai for working to stamp out counterfeiters, production - counterfeiters in Guangdong are thriving, smuggling - Guangdong province port cities are entry points for CD presses from Europe, exports - flow of counterfeits through Hong Kong, Vietnam and Russia etc.
