| Tiivistelmä: | The article analyses with econometric methods Swiss monetary policy and its impact on inflation. A second order Pascal lag adjustment of the price level is assumed. It turns out that inflation speeded up in 1982-83 not because of loose control of the monetary base but because higher interest rates increased the cost of holding money and thereby reduced the demand for money. |
