| Tiivistelmä: | Discount rate is critically important for determining the efficient allocation of a nonrenewable resource. The article takes up the problem of how much loss is caused by using a discount rate different from the so called social discount rate. The problem is analysed on a multiperiod, multitechnology optimization model for allocating Canadian natural gas to domestic and export markets. |
