| Tiivistelmä: | This paper looks at current macroeconomic developments in Japan, the rest of Asia and USA. While it seems that economic growth has bottomed out in both Japan and the rest of the Asia, recovery still depends very much on public investment. Whether this recovery is sustained will depend on these economies making a smooth transition to growth driven by domestic demand. In USA, on the other hand, attention is focused on whether rising interest rates will end the bull market in equities and bring the current economic upswing to a close. |
