| Tiivistelmä: | The notion of value added drawn from the national accounts, at first glance appears quite alien to the business world which generally relies on other performance indicators. The need to establish links between the fundamental macro-economic concepts and the rules governing the management of industrial companies is explained. Using French and Japanese examples, particular attention is given to the ways of applying by firms a value-added policy to survive in stagnant or declining markets. In order to reduce the flexible margin, it is necessary that value added will be strong. And the company chief's strategy must consist in achieving an equilibrium between value added and productivity. |
