Tiivistelmä: | We have a clear consensus about what constitutes "high performance" work practices, as well as solid evidence from studies in the automotive, semiconductor, and textile industries that such practices result in higher productivity and competitive advantage. Why, then, is implementation so slow and piecemeal? The answer, says Pfeffer, is that a series of barriers (financial systems, social and political pressures, and hierarchical structures) block management's view of what high performance systems can accomplish. |
