Tiivistelmä:Negotiation processes as the basis of reality construction in organizations. In recent organization theory constructionist concepts become more and more accepted as guidelines for theory building. The paper introduces the central elements of an interactionist perspective, the Negotiated Order Approach, which regards organizational order as an ongoing process of reality construction, and discusses conceptual affinities to the theory of structuration and to Neo-Institutionalism. Subsequently, it is argued that the dynamic concept of "framing" is apt to capture the interplay between structural and institutionalized components of the social systems involved and the processual character of intersubjective reality construction.
