Tiivistelmä: | Based on semi-structured interviewing, this article deals with how a large Norwegian oil company, Statoil, introduces Learning Management System (LMS), a learning portal and at the same time the organization of internal competence development in the so-called Statoil School of Business and Technology (SBT). Concepts of 'boundary object' (here as: 'b-o') and 'community of practice' are used as an analytical framework to clarify the problem and the purpose that the informants want LMS to serve in Statoil. As a 'b-o.', the LMS's wanted function is as a mediator and as a tool for closeness and community. It is argued that 'b-o.'s can function as both theoretical, analytical tools for research in the field, as well as concrete tool for organizations supposed to cooperate across perspectives etc. (original in Norwegian) |
