| Tiivistelmä: | Concern for the quality of higher education in Australia has been a function of time and circumstances. The origins of the Quality Improvement Programme are noted and its characteristics are analysed. The comprehensive and quantitative aspects of the development are examined as is the competitive approach to performance which it entails. The operation of the Programme, through the National Quality Assurance Committee and institutional participation, is described. |
