| Tiivistelmä: | The author first mentions the consequences of the higher education expansion in Portugal during the last two decades. She then describes the implementation of evaluation, pointing out the characteristics of the Portuguese experience (institutionalisation, law on evaluation) and the operational function (focus, objectives, meaning) which guarantees the product quality, and underlines the institutional and social impact of the evaluative process. |
