Tiivistelmä:The decision was made to purchase a human resources management systems /HRMS/ software, and the task of the evaluation of available products must be completed. HRMS evaluation teams usually are unfamiliar with the process, therefore team members make extra work for themselves and often make uniformed decisions. Guidelines are presented for planning an effective purchase strategy. The project team's set-up is proposed, and guidelines for screening vendors are suggested. The ways how to evaluate prospective vendors and how to negotiate with them are shown. The handling of RFPs and RFIs (request for proposal and information, resp.) are discussed in detail in conjunction with software vendors. Finally, ways for contract negotiations are shown.
