Tiivistelmä:There was a time when installing an HRIS was fairly simple: All you had to do was buy a package written in COBOL and be prepared to spend time and money getting the system up and running. Today there are numerous options and more are being introduced almost daily. Still, a state-of-art system can be defined by seven requirements ranging from intelligent workstations to an application development environment. The application development environment must feature a wide array of end user tools for building, modifying and enhancing the HRIS. Furthermore, a powerful programming language is needed that is tightly coupled to the central data dictionary. The role of a client/server architecture is highlighted. The HRIS must be database independent.
